I tried to fix the registry with vulcan, but it didn't work. hi, i followed the instructions and am able to add far cry 3 to my uplay account.
If it doesn’t trigger automatically you’ll need to download it manually and install it with your bare hands.
That Far Cry 3’s servers are down this morning, on the day the game sodding well comes out, is beyond belief. The bad news is I have to jump through so many pointless hoops to do so.

There are stability issues fixed in both singleplayer and multiplayer, but as I say - nothing too insta-death game-breaking.
